Lecture course "Elusive reality. Contemporary Philosophy of Mind"

31 January, 2024

Anton Kuznetsov's lecture course "Elusive Reality. Contemporary Philosophy of Mind" is out on Magisteria.

The course provides a general understanding of the philosophy of mind, the mind-body problem, the difficulties associated with it and the main alternatives to its solution. His lectures will examine the arguments for and against the materialistic explanation of consciousness, the theory of panpsychism, which sees consciousness even in inanimate nature, and the theory of illusionism — the position that consciousness is a kind of illusion, and it simply does not exist. The original author's argument in favor of the existence of consciousness will be based on it, which will restore consciousness to its rights and return its rightful place in the picture of existence. The final lectures will address the issues of free will, animal consciousness and artificial intelligence.
