First pub. in: М. «Канон +»: РООИ «Реабилитация», 2009. - 472 с.

The book is about the main issues of the problem of consciousness, its epistemological, ontological, axiological and praxeological aspects. A significant consideration is given to the specific and inherent quality of consciousness – the subjective reality, the theoretical difficulties associated with its explanation. Analyzing the results of the development of the problem in analytic philosophy and phenomenology, the author points to the role of research in the field of philosophy of mind for the development of modern epistemology. Special sections of Dubrovski’s book are devoted to the socio-epistemological approach to the problem of consciousness and to the latest results of studies of phenomena of consciousness in psychology, neurophysiology, neurolinguistics and the development of artificial intelligence and cognitive science. The author emphasizes the necessity of the relationship of philosophical and scientific approaches for the successful development of the problem of consciousness in the information society and globalization processes.
