Consciousness and fundamental reality. Scientific seminar of the Center for Consciousness Studies

10 January, 2022

The first seminar of the Center in 2019 is devoted to the extravagant concept of cosmopsychism - the thesis according to which the entire universe has some kind of consciousness, the decombination of which also has the consciousness of individual people as its result. This position is defended by Philip Goff in the book "Consciousness and Fundamental Reality". He believes that consciousness cannot be reduced to the physical, but it is not a separate element of reality. It is fundamental and sheds light on the deep nature of matter, the clarification of which leads to the final thesis - cosmopsychism.

Keynote speakers - Anton Kuznetsov (Ph.D. in MCCS and MSU) and Varvara Shubina (PhD student at MSU)

The seminar was also attended by: Ph.D. O.Cherkashina, Ph.D. A. Besedin, Ph.D. A. Yunusov, Ph.D. V.Vasilyev, Ph.D. E. Loginov, A. Mertsalov, A.Tanyushina, Ph.D. A. Veretennikov, Ph.D. Vinnik, students and postgraduates of the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University.
