Professor Vasilyev is 50!

Today, the co-director of our Center, Head of the Department of History of Foreign Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Vadim Valeryevich Vasilyev celebrates his 50th anniversary! The friendly staff of the Center is in a hurry to congratulate a dear colleague on this significant date! We want to wish the hero of the day new creative heights and not to reduce such a high level of energy that it is more than enough for us!


Vadim Valeryevich is known for developing original theoretical approaches to solving the mind-body problem (local interactionism) and free will (ultracompatibilism). He has trained a lot of wonderful specialists. Without a doubt, we can say that thanks to him, a whole scientific school of young philosophers was formed. Also, Vadim Valerievich has already made a significant contribution to the study of the history of Modern philosophy and modern analytical philosophy. Among his numerous works are "The Cellars of Kantian Metaphysics", "Philosophical Psychology in the Age of Enlightenment", "The Difficult Problem of Consciousness", "Consciousness and Things", "In defense of Classical Compatibilism. An essay on free will."
